Trip Overview

Makalu Base Camp Trek is a beautiful adventure in Baru National Park and the main route to Arun Valley of the Makalu Himalayas region. It is also known as the cross to high passes of West Col, Sherpani Col, and Amphu Lapcha Passes trek. These are in the middle of the most difficult and rewarding of the westward treks in the Nepal Himalayas.

The Makalu base camp trek starts from Chichila. First, you need to take a flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, and then drive to Chichila. Chichila is at an altitude of 1040m (3412ft) 

Is a hot shower available on the Makalu Base Camp trek?

 The trek takes a remote area where mostly cold water is used for a bath or any activities. Hot shower facilities are not available along the way. A bit difficult for trekkers. However, we are confident that all trekkers can still enjoy the cold and fresh water.
